Convention of Synod
Convention of Synod is a coming together of congregational lay delegates, church leaders, officials and clergy, primarily to conduct the business of the Lutheran Church of Australia, South Australia – Northern Territory District. It is the District’s Annual General Meeting.
Convention also serves spiritual and fellowship purposes. The schedule includes worship, celebrations and the opportunity to catch up with old friends or make some new ones!
The 51st LCA SA-NT District Convention of Synod was held at the Adelaide Convention Centre from 17-18 May 2025.
Our Convention theme for 2025 is Prepared to Go.
The key Scripture comes from Luke 10, where Jesus appoints seventy-two others to work together with the twelve disciples and he begins with this encouragement: "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” (Luke 10:2)
