The Lutheran Church of Australia is considering launching an appeal to support drought-affected communities, although at the moment, there is no pressing need.
Thanks to generous donations received over recent years, the LCA Disaster & Welfare Fund has reserves that can be drawn on immediately to help drought-affected communities.
In addition, the district offices are asking congregations in the drought zones to help determine what sort of assistance is most needed. This will help the LCA to allocate donated funds wisely.
Depending on the feedback received, a special LCA appeal may be launched, or direct you to agencies that are better placed to provide support to those affected by this drought.
In the meantime, if you would like to contribute to the LCA Disaster & Welfare Fund, you may donate securely here.
