Mission Grants
Does your congregation or parish have a program that is reaching out to those within or outside of the church community? Or has your church ever had a brilliant mission idea, but the cost was too high to get it off the ground?
The SA–NT Department for Mission is here to help and offers several grants each year to support our congregations and parishes.
A LLL Mission Resource Grant will assist your church with resourcing its mission, while a LLL Mission Outreach Grant will help you put a good idea on the ground locally. And if you’re a musician or part of a musical group, a Church Musician Grant can be used for musical leadership, tuition or composition.
There is also the Zinnbauer Mission Fund, which supports community-based mission and ministry initiatives of congregations and departments of the SA–NT District. This fund was established with the proceeds from the sale of the Lutheran Emergency Family Shelter in College Park, which was run for many years by Pastor Albert Zinnbauer and his wife. The fund has an annual income of around $100,000. At the 2018 SA-NT Convention of Synod, it was decided that interest from the Zinnbauer Fund would be used to support and sustain chaplaincy ministry in the SA-NT District for two years.
