New Youth Space at Langmeil
A bright, refreshed space has given youth and families a new lease on life at Langmeil Lutheran Church.
The church team used downtime during the COVID-19 lockdown to plan and work on a renovation of the old Kids Church area, creating extra space by knocking through a wall to what was a store room.
With design input from the families that would use the area, the interior was reimagined to be both comfortable and functional, with facilities including a television, storage, sink and lots of seating.
A fresh coat of paint and the addition of cheerful, rainbow-hued décor and accessories added the finishing touches, along with a ‘Light of the World’ mural that can be seen through the window by passers-by on the street.
Georgia Rosenzweig, a ministry team member at Langmeil Lutheran Church, said the new space will encourage growth in children’s ministry in the community, as well as further fostering the relationship with Faith Lutheran College’s Junior Campus, adjacent to the church building.
“Our ultimate goal was to help make young people and families feel welcomed at Langmeil,” she said.
“We’re looking forward to taking on some similar projects around the church in the future too.”
